The Used, was one band that according to me have cool music. They formed in 2001 and from Orem, Utah. But before, The used in fact has exist in music since early 1990s with named Strange Itch with Jeph Howard, Branden Steineckert, Matt Brown, Joel Pack. In 1998 they has release self-titled album, and more, they changed the name with Dumb Luck in 1999. Afterwards in 2000 an EP – The Naked Truth released.

Dumb Luck short-long after release, their was another up change as Johnson had left the band and Howard take over as bass player with leaving of band without singer. Try for singers were held in Branden’s bedroom, but they weren’t satisfy with anyone they heard until Quinn remembered Bert McCracken from school and called him to see if he was interested to try. Then Bert met with other members and also liked their music. After being given music the band had written, and Bert write the lyrics to what become maybe memories and return the next day with a newly recorded version of the song. Afterwards Bert take over as vocal and also this band named with The Used.

In 2001, The used write a songs and made a demo. Until 2002, finally they release first album that name self-title – The Used. After successes their first album, in 2004 had tragedy. Ex-girlfriend Bert McCracken died because overdose, so their second album released with named In Love and Death, evidently this album got gold certified. In summer of 2006 rumors spread among fans that Branden was no longer a member, fans constantly ask questions about reason why Branden was no longer the drummer. The band response by saying they need to move forward without him and there was a personality conflict between Branden and another members. In 2006 Branden joined with Rancid to replace their drummer Brett Reed. So when The Used release new album in 2007 with named Lies for the Liars, their use temporary members that named Dean Butterworth to filled drum, and afterwards, replace with Dan Whitesides.

The used members at this time, Bert McCracken as vocal and pianist, Quinn Allman as guitarist, Jeph Howard is bass player, and last is Dan Whitesides as drum player.
