Sugar Ray was rock band that come from Newport Beach, California. Sugar Ray formed on 1992 with name The Shrinky Dinx, and later this name change again become to Sugar Ray after the boxer Sugar Ray Leonard. Two years later, Sugar Ray release first album with album title Lemonade and brownies. But on June being the most frequent month for release. The album Lemonade and Brownies failed to produce a major hit and their next release Floored on June 24, 1997 with Fly song and feature notable reggae artist Super Cat. They early work was strongly influence by funk metal, alternative rock, and also pop.

Afterwards, on 1999 with album 14:59 was the sardonic reply to this accusation, with the title Sugar Ray outsold its predecessor and certified three platinum. On 2001 self title album Sugar Ray produced another hit with ‘when it’s over’ and reached in the same level as their previous single. And in June 2003 their back to release album In the Pursuit of Leisure, with the first single ‘Mr.Bartender’ (It’s so easy) receive a lukewarm reception. And more, in 2005 Sugar Ray back to release greatest album with two new songs, including the single Shot of Laughter. Finally in 2006, Sugar Ray released from their contract with Atlantic Records.
